Channeled Perspectives
The desire for transcendence and expanded consciousness about metaphysical aspects of life might first be recognized by oneself as having a natural compulsion for learning more about God, cosmology and other religions/wisdom traditions. One eventually may reflect about the process of thinking and the reason for oneself having the interests and thoughts about the aspects of life that seem to naturally motivate contemplation. And what about emotions? As mentioned before, I've noticed that there have been occasions when I've been objectively reflecting about some spiritual or
metaphysical aspect of life or God and some intense feeling of either
joy, excitement or sadness will come over me.
This spring has been a contemplative one for me. I've found it worthwhile to consider what may be learned from transcendental communication cases such as 'channeling' that offer perspectives of the brain and evidence of the Divine Mind. It is only natural that the concept of 'personality' and 'ego' would be something necessary to consider for someone such as myself who has experienced circumstances and predicaments that are beyond the usual expectations of others (or of myself prior to my 39th birthday). So-called 'channeled entities' provide perspectives about these quandaries. Lazaris through Jach Pursel has stated in the first book of discourse transcripts (1988):
There is a "you" that is beyond that which you know that is watching over you, a "you" that is a part of you, that is guiding you, if you will allow it to guide you. There is a Higher Consciousness that is within you . . . ("Basic Metaphysical Teachings in Channeling Cases")
Your unconscious mind has a raft of information about all your previous and future lifetimes, and your Higher Consciousness knows everything.
Every single thought that you have will manifest. Sometimes that manifestation will occur in this reality. Those are the ones you enjoy most. But sometimes that manifestation could occur, say, in a past lifetime or in a future lifetime, or it could occur in a parallel lifetime, or it could occur in an Astral expression of yourself.
You create obstacles physically, emotionally, mentally and intuitively to push the happy endings out of this reality and into another. Therefore, you program and get rid of blockages. You process. You program. You open it up. You create the ambiance, you create the resonance, you do the dance to bring that already existing reality into your creation. That's creating your own reality!
Issue 18 of the 1980s Los Angeles publication about channeling Spirit Speaks (1988) quotes 'John' through Kevin Ryerson about an individual's mental states. The topic of this edition of the magazine is "Depression: Getting Out & Staying Out!"
Stored in the subconscious are the major seeds of feeling and emotion. In the faculties of the subconscious there is a tendency to place in the emotion a literalness that is not necessarily fully placed or emphasized as the state of the so-called "conscious" mind. For here we would divide the faculties of mind into three predominant grounds: conscious, subconscious, and superconscious.
The superconscious dimensions are reserved to the Spirit, the subconscious are the faculty or the storehouse of primarily the intuitive, subconscious resources and the dimensions of that which is known as emotions. Emotions are primarily those faculties that are not fully resolved upon the conscious levels.
For it is that all mind is but a process of memory. It is only how an individual chooses to emphasize memory, or have perspective upon it, as to how the individual perceives themselves to be.
The sleep state comes from two faculties. One, a continuous stress, in particular constriction of the circulatory systems, has a tendency to lead to a depleting of physical vitality upon the individual. Also, it is a biological duplication of deeper meditative states, where the individual, through the sleep, is attempting to gain insights from subconscious and superconscious sources.
Emotional highs or lows are but the pendulum swings to where the truth lies, which is the middle path. Emotional highs are but compulsive behavior to achieve a desensitizing to a negatively emotionally charged issue in life. In the emotional low of depression, the individual is no longer aligned with esteem and true knowledge of themselves.
It is the middle path where feeling lies. We would describe feeling as the clearly aligned conscious and subconscious emotions of unresolved issues, unresolved or unfulfilled needs in a person's life.
Feelings are the ability to be intuitively aligned with the natural order of the person.
The individual may always resort to the more spiritual dimensions. For this helps the individual to achieve a greater sense of overall esteem, for they would have a need of a restoration of their worthiness in relationship to the whole perspective of their life. What is of the Spirit may be applicable to many and all areas of life when the individual reaches such states as called deep depression. The spiritual therapies are better applied here because these cause the individual to go into a sense of their overall purposefulness in life, and to restore the understanding that life itself is meaning enough for living.
An epochal book published in 1964 is The Image of An Oracle, Ira Progoff's 'Report on Research into the mediumship of Eileen J. Garrett.' (1, 2, 3) The book presents transcripts of tape recordings of what was said during 12 sessions beginning in 1957 when Eileen went into a trance and four "control figures" ('Ouvani,' 'Abdul Latif,' 'Tahoteh' and 'Ramah') conversed with Ira in "basic research" documented with the book. Ira mentioned in his observations about the transcendental orations offering metaphysical commentary the word "channel" to describe Eileen's situation, including this sentence: "This has been the unconscious goal of serving as a channel by which ultimate and transpersonal statements of truth could come into the world."
Ouvani is quoted to have mentioned during the first conversation:
It may be that it has been explained to her, that it is Ouvani who makes appearance and is most often the one with whom the enquirer must come into contact. I would doubt that she would understand the true significance of my bearing. Her soul knows it, but does her conscious content even ask it? I would doubt that.
Suppose we are now talking about this piece of land, we have a garden, have we not, into which come two or three gardeners and there are three, four, and these gardeners have their own specific functions, yes? Now they respect each other because one will look after this particular area while another looks after his. Therefore they have to respect each other to work within this area. They are responsible, are they not, to irrigate and to supply the knowledge that will be demanded by all, by sundry.
. . . if we did not give to the soul which we use, something of sustenance. We would be careless of our vineyard, would we not?
The book is challenging to express or paraphrase due to the preponderance of thoughts expressed with the reader required to interpret the experiences of individual personality being articulated. During one conversation 'Abdul Latif' commented: "There is no such thing as these conceptual states that man talks of as the place of happiness, the place of peace, the garden, without toil." Also: "We are here, we will be here, we will be there, but we are it, the word."
Ira then asked about "the 'we' and the numbers of the 'we'; that is, I understand really that this 'it' is, essentially it is not anything really separated in its parts . . . did these other people . . ."
Abdul Latif: Are they here and now, you ask me?Author: Yes, yes.Abdul Latif: Well, of course. You see, into this bowl of life are poured, and you notice it well for it is a very great proof, this generative impulse. You look at the types in the universe. All of them could not come of the same growth. They could not come from the same period or the same experience, because if they did, it would be static and could not flow. Consequently, they come from their different periods, their different levels, in order to rub shoulders with each other, in order to bring this friction that is necessary consciously and unconsciously that is necessary for the growth each of the other. So you see that all these levels of experience are whirling, there is the vitality, perhaps, and then you see around and around and around are all these levels of experience that must rub shoulders with each other, some with less, some with more, in order to grind out life.
Pat Rodegast first channeled 'Emmanuel' in 1969. Emmanuel's Book was published in 1985 compiled by Pat Rodegast and Judith Stanton. Pat's channeling commenced after a series of visionary experiences. She wrote: "The first time I saw Emmanuel, some two years after the initial visual breakthrough, he appeared as he still does, as a being of golden light . . . It has taken me 12 years to know absolutely that Emmanuel will be there when I open to him."
Here are some excerpts from Emmanuel's Book III (1994):
You are not the limited human beings
that you think you are.
You are Divine energy
which has access to many universes.
but you are only part human.
The other part of you is Angel.
Every day that You are present in your life,
the Angel is present.
You are so much greater
than the masks behind which
you hide your faces of innocence.
You are not only the children of God,
but God Itself.
When you experience joy, excitement,
passion and humor, you know
that you are walking with your Angel.
Step free of the illusion of limitation.
You are not bodies.
You are Ideas —
brilliant, shining, living thoughts of the Angel,
having become manifest only in the dusting,
for the essence remains always true
to its own nature.
Live your lives in expanded curiosity,
wondering "what if?" Censor nothing.
Mystery is mystery because it cannot be understood.
So follow the mystery.
It will bring clearing vision.
When you are in Oneness, You see the world
of human endeavor as a blessed opportunity,
a most holy task that will allow you
to bring the loveliness, the grace,
the perfection of You are
into the world of imperfection.
A contemporary channeler is Paul Selig (1, 2, 3) whose channeling can be observed in numerous YouTube videos. His eighth book of channeled text will be published later this year. The transcendental communication voiced through him is sometimes simply described as coming from 'the guides.' The following passages are from The Book of Love and Creation (2012). The quoted discourses indicate that your 'higher self' is synonymous with "the divine aspect of you," "the soul," "Christed self," "Creative Self," "Conscious Self," and "the Christ within me." The guides are quoted at one point as saying: "We are not God. We are an aspect of God, as you are. We have been doing this a while, and a good long time, if you wish to know, and we are pleased for this opportunity to support you in this lifting."
There can be nothing created in this land, in this existence, in this plane of consciousness without it being thought first. Now the simplicity of this idea is something you understand, but is not something that you navigate with an awareness on a day-to-day basis. "I didn't create the subway system." "I didn't create the blemish." "I didn't create the tree." Well, in fact you did. You all did, on a collective level of thought.
The world around you has been created in order to give you an experience of yourselves in reality that will come forth and bring about the change of consciousness that you require.
Now the consciousness that you have been given by your Creator, that aspect of the self that is you, that operates in its Creative Self, is in congruence with its design as an aspect of the Creator. You are each a piece of the Creator congruently operating with the Great Creator to the extent that you become congruent with that frequency. And the design that you are, then, can out-picture in consciousness a changed reality.
Your reality can transform to the extent that you bring forth a new ideal of awareness of yourselves as the creative force in the world. You do this intentionally, individually, as you claim, "I am Word." "I am Word through all that I see before me. I am Word through my designs. I am Word through my choices. I am word through all that I know."
Now Paul is asking, "Is hearing the Divine Self the same as hearing your spirit guides?" Absolutely yes and no. Your guides access you through that aspect of the self that is your Higher Self, so you are working in tandem. It is part of a linkup, as it were. Paul used to hear his guides say, "You have a telephone call," when they were trying to introduce him to another frequency. And in essence, his guide was serving as the gatekeeper or the telephone operator to ensure his safety and availability to access the information clairaudiently. The difference now is that Paul's system has integrated this such that he is able to access information without that kind of a hookup.
We are bringing you to awakening. And the awakening to what you have to create must be based on an understanding of what has already been created. That is the basis of this first part of the text. We are not going to tell you that mankind is going to have a party unless they get this right. That will not be the case. We are not speaking of doom. We will explain it very clearly. Mankind has created things. At this juncture the creations of man must be assessed and decided before destruction can ensue. Now ultimately this is all about choice. But we are telling you right now that ability for man to go into an awakening of resounding joy has been gifted to you.
Those creations that were created in fear, which is linked to control, have to be contended with now.
The desires that you have had that would take to fulfill the requirements of the old identity — "I need to be this," "I have to look like that," "What if I don't get this?," "What will they think of me if I am not that?" — all go right out the window because they are seen for what they are: out-picturings of the requirements of the ego to remain in accordance with a system of outside, external approval.
There has been a belief incurred in something called a rapture, where people are lifted in their bodies from their offices and from their cars and all kinds of mayhem ensues. This is a complete misinterpretation of ascension. What is truly ascending is you, in your frequency and consciousness, and as this happens the body has to be receptive for this as well. The apt metaphor here, though, is that there are some who will ascend in frequency and that there are those who will not. And in Christianity, the statement has been made that this has to do with an allegiance to the Christ through Jesus. Now that is one way that a man or a woman can enter the Kingdom. But the Christ, of course, has no denomination. The Christ, in truth, is the indwelling God within each man and woman that is awakened in Divine Knowing through this action, "I am Word."
