“Vibrational Healing” — My Notes of a 1996 PRS Lecture by Joy Gardner-Gordon

The full title of the April 14, 1996 lecture was “Vibrational Healing: Body and Mind, Medicine of the Future and the Ancient Past.”  At the time, Joy Gardner-Gordon was founder and director of the Vibrational Healing Training Program in Marin County, California.  She’d been a health professional for twenty-three years and had written six books on self healing.

Joy told us that the words ‘vibrational healing’ had come to her—as they had to several others at the same time—from the ‘sphere of ideas’ that surrounds the planet.  She said that what she wanted to do was have people connect their heart with their voice and express feelings immediately through sound.

Joy began chanting to show that sometimes sounds can express emotion far better than words.  She said that she became involved with vibrational healing after first working as a herbalist, masseuse and acupuncturist.

In the late ‘70s, she began hearing messages during meditations and always before she’d thought that this only happened to people who were either crazy or a saint.

She described a guided meditation with British Spiritualist Helena Ram that utilized an imagery technique to successfully treat her for an ovarian cyst.  Joy pointed out that the underlying causes of most diseases are far more important to heal than the symptom.

Joy identified one of her ‘spirit guides’ as ‘Dr. Laing’ who has told her about chakras and color.  She commented about many different aspects of health and healing treatments, including past life regression.

She mentioned that many people—in order to find love from their parents or in society—are driven to achieve and they never feel satisfied while others retreat into fantasy, sometimes through alcohol or marijuana.  She stated that the problem at the base of both of these experiences is not being accepted as who you are.

Joy also talked about vibrational healing with gem stones and told us about some of her experiences with crystals.  At the end of the lecture, Joy and the PRS audience chanted “om” together.

At Joy’s website information is available about all the things she talked about in the 1996 lecture.  Here is a link: http://highvibrations.net/ — website articles include an introduction, autobiographical article, book excerpts, and some pages of energy and orb photos.  As author, look for her books by Joy Gardner.

I haven’t had the chance to experience any vibrational healing myself because of my good health but I’m going to read Joy’s most recent book
Vibrational Healing through the Chakras with Light, Color, Sound, Crystals, and Aromatherapy (2006).
